The Spruce is a popular online publication that offers practical, real-life tips and inspiration to help you make your best home. So to say we were thrilled by their positive mention of Bona Cleaner would be a massive understatement.
Our flagship Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner was reviewed at The Spruce to be tested and compared with other floor cleaners. In the article, “Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner Review,” writer Sharon Lehman shares her experiences using Bona and other competitors, giving it a final verdict of “Yes, buy it.”
Before Lehman begins her analysis, she begins with the framework of her review. She writes, “Household products formulated with safer ingredients rarely perform as well their chemical-laden counterparts, so we were curious how the Bona cleaner would fare.”
Lehman breaks down her experience with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner into three different categories: cleaning power, bottle design and scent. When using Bona on her original 1950s wood floors (in high traffic areas that have a slightly dulled finish), she writes, “We were pleased with how clean and bright the floors looked…we were also happy to notice some minor scuffs and surface scratches in our aged hardwoods were less noticeable after cleaning with Bona.”
One aspect that Lehman sees as a major positive is the lack of scent in the cleaner. While competitor cleaning solutions might offer similar results, many of them have strong scents which the author equates to more chemicals. Even among the competition, Bona still has an edge with its safer ingredients and low odor. She ends her positive review by stating, “[Bona is] considered a safe and reliable essential by many hardwood floor owners and professional flooring installers. It is easy to use and has little to no fragrance—a plus for people with allergies and perfume sensitivities.”
